I was lucky enough to be chosen as makeup artist and hair stylist for the second time by funky jewellery company Sour Cherry.

Their Spring 2016 shoot was last week and when I got the initial briefing from their Marketing Director Jess I was really excited to see the words “Glitter! Fun! Colourful!”.  They chose Sarah-Alyce Ward a locally based model who is a real chameleon – she’s a beautiful redhead with the cutest nose and freckles.  She’s versatile and can be a moody fashion model as well as turning on the smiles and fabulousness as she did on last week’s shoot.  Working with fun like-minded people is a huge bonus for a makeup artist, I am grateful for decent paid work but when it’s fun too, well that’s when I feel like the luckiest person in the world!

Sour Cherry Shoot Look

Sarah-Alyce has amazingly flawless pale skin and freckles so I kept the base very light and dewy.  I built up teal coloured eye shadow from the Urban Decay Vice Palette over a Mally creamstick for grip.  I used Collection’s glitter gel eyeliners in green, turquoise and gold under her eyes. I mixed Younique’s 3D Mascara with some purple pigment to create a custom mascara with colour.   A little socket sculpting using Chipper from Younique Moodstruck Palette 1 and the eyes were complete.  Sarah-Alyce’s brows are lovely and full, I just brushed them through and left them natural.  Cheeks were rosy thanks to Younique’s Blusher in Sweet and Makeup Revolution’s Highlighter Palette.  I used Glitter Lips in Sparkling Rose to create the fun glittery lips – I love the kits they come in an amazing 17 different colours and they are kiss proof and drink proof for up to 8 hours!

Hair was twisted up in some loose style knots and I created some over the top glitter roots using the same Collection glitter eyeliner gels, some hairspray and a ton of silver and gold large particle loose craft glitters.  Being able to really let loose and create a crazy, colourful, glittery mermaid style look was a hell of a lot of fun.  It certainly reflected the brand and I hope to work with them again soon.

You can see the pictures on Sour Cherry’s website and also check out their fabulous kitsch funky jewellery.  Sarah-Alyce Ward is signed to J’Adore Model Agency.
